Start Close In

I have had a week of working with the energy of Autumn. Beginning on Samhain, where I joined my friend and fellow Druid, Emma for a ritual in the park and framed yesterday - sadly, poignantly- at the funeral of a dear friend's beloved father.

In between, I attended the Autumn seasonal workshops with Lorna Penney, a crucible for some fierce work with the metal element ( she works in the Eastern five element tradition). She shared a number of texts by David Whyte. His words never fail to reach an incredible depth of presence and awareness.

This poem "Starts Close In" is so startlingly simple that is feels almost surprising that it touches what it does...but it does! This  read by the poet himself.
