“Human presence is a creative and turbulent sacrament, a visible sign of invisible grace”. John O'Donohue

Anam Cara

"According to Celtic spiritual tradition, the soul shines all around the body like a luminous cloud. When you are very open, appreciative, and trusting with another person, your two souls flow together. This deeply felt bond with another person means you have found your anam cara, or “Soul Friend.” ~ John O’Donohue

The Anam Cara relationship provides you with a spiritual director, unconditional listener and advisor. Someone with a mature spiritual practice and intuitive wisdom who is able to help you recognise and listen to your own heart song.

In a professional context, it might look  a little bit like coaching but it is not necessarily aimed at getting you to a particular outcome. Neither is it counselling.   There is no agenda around "fixing" your problems -  in relationship to Source or Spirit, you are already perfect. It is a bit like to talking to a priest, except that I have no religious agenda. I am multi/inter/no faith in my approach and will meet you where you are.

The Anam Cara relationship helps you to remember who you are, and it helps to guide you on your personal journey with more clarity.

An Anamcara session can take a number of approaches. I sometimes use devices such as intuitive readings (with or without cards) meditation, breathing and centering techniques, embodied wisdom, poetry, prayer, mantra and (if I see you in person) hands on energy healing.

I am here to be this for you if you feel that is what your heart is seeking. I can offer this in a number of ways, from regular guidance sessions, informal online dialogue, mentoring or support.

Skype(or FB video) session with email follow up

Once you arrange your time with me, I will send you a PayPal money request. Payment should be made in advance.

I work with the utmost integrity and regard for confidentiality. We set out our boundaries and goals as a contract at the beginning of the relationship.

"Your anam cara always beholds your light and beauty, and accepts you for who you truly are. In Celtic spirituality, the anam cara friendship awakens the fullness and mystery of your life. You are joined in an ancient and eternal union with humanity that cuts across all barriers of time, convention, philosophy, and definition. When you are blessed with an anam cara, the Irish believe, you have arrived at that most sacred place: home.” ~ John O’Donohue

Mentoring or Supervision

The Anam Cara Mentoring or Supervision relationship provides you with unconditional loving advice and listening space with a senior yoga teacher and teacher trainer, experienced complementary therapist and lifelong healer with a mature spiritual practice.

Supervision is used by many practitioners of therapeutic disciplines, but this often not the case for Yoga teachers or complementary therapists where there is usually no formal requirement for ongoing supervision. However, it can be of tremendous value in negotiating the many personal, professional and emotional issues that present themselves to all of us working in these important healing and teaching roles.I am here with an open heart if you feel that the Anam Cara relationship would help you in your role. It can be most useful as a regular arrangement where we can look at how things are developing for you, but you can also book a one off session if there is an issue or situation you are working with and need to share.

The mentoring relationship is generally based more on personal or professional goals or personal development, and less so on the supervisory aspect . In the Anam Cara relationship however, we are less concerned about these divisions, and more observant of the overall wellbeing of those involved and the roles of supervisor/mentor may well overlap.
